Denmark 2-3 Portugal

Pepe headed the Seleccao into the lead from a corner, before Helder Postiga put them further in control with a confident finish from close range.
But, Bendtner, on his 50th appearance for Denmark nodded one back for his side four minutes before half-time before completing the recovery with another header nine minutes from the end.
The action was not over, however, as Silvestre Varela had the last laugh, grabbing the winner with a sublime effort in the 87th minute to put Portugal level on three points with the Danes, and take the race for a quarter-final spot into the final matchday.
Denmark started the brighter of the two sides, and forced a flurry of corners early in the game to keep the Portuguese under pressure.
Despite their lack of initial enterprise, Bento’s men threatened first, Miguel Veloso whipping in a devilish ball from a short corner that was capably punched away by Stephan Andersen.
And there was bad news for the Danes just past the quarter-hour mark when Niki Zimling was forced off through injury, with Jakob Poulsen coming on as his replacement.Portugal improved shortly after, and slowly began to play their way back into the game. Cristiano Ronaldo, as ever, was at the heart of everything, dragging a one-two with Veloso wide before hammering a free-kick into orbit.
The Iberian nation would strike first after 24 minutes. Joao Moutinho took charge of a corner, and Pepe stole a march at the near post to plant a header past Andersen into the roof of the net.
And they made the most of their momentum, and doubled their advantage in the 37th minute. Nani found himself with time and space on the right flank, and squared low to Postiga, who ghosted ahead of Simon Kjaer to lash into the top corner.
Denmark were quick to react though, and halved the deficit within four minutes. Kvist Jorgensen clipped towards Michael Krohn-Dehli at the far post, who nodded back across the six yard box for Bendtner to head into an empty net.
Portugal almost replicated their second goal on the stroke of the interval, but this time Kjaer was able to slide ahead of Postiga to hack away another dangerous cross from Nani.
Cristiano Ronaldo then had a glorious chance to put Portugal 3-1 up four minutes into the second half when clean through on goal, but his attempted slot into the bottom corner was read well by Andersen.
The chances keep on coming for the Seleccao with Postiga gifted the opportunity to pounce after terrible giveaway from Simon Poulsen, but the striker was then flattened by Agger to snuff out the chance.
Denmark were then forced into another change on the hour mark, as Dennis Rommedahl hobbled off in obvious discomfort, with Tobias Mikkelsen coming on in his stead.
Despite the setback, the Danes were inching their way back into the match. Kvist caused a few hearts to flutter with a thunderous drive from the edge of the area that whistled inches away from the top corner.
Bendtner was next to try his luck after plucking a pass out of the air at the corner of the box, but his finish did not match his control, and was scuffed wide of the mark.
The Danes should have been dead and buried on 78 minutes, but were spared thanks to another awful miss from Cristiano Ronaldo. The 27-year-old found himself one-on-one again with Andersen, but his side-footed finish was comfortably wide of the mark.
Within three minutes, Denmark would make him pay. Lars Jakobsen lifted a cross towards the far post over the head of Pepe, where Bendtner was waiting to head home via the woodwork.
However, just when it looked like they had thrown the game away, Varela rescued all three points with a well-taken half-volley from a Fabio Coentrao cross to settle the game in Portugal’s favour.

Germany 1-0 Portugal

                                             Mario Gomez's late header ensured Germany made a winning start to Euro 2012 after Portugal had threatened to frustrate Joachim Loew's side in Lviv.
                                            Germany dominated possession but struggled to carve out clear cut chances before Gomez broke the deadlock after Sami Khedira's cross. Portugal were disappointing and only came to life after Germany scored. Pepe hit the bar with a rare first-half chance while Nani was also denied by the woodwork late on.

                                                     Gomez was given a go by the coach ahead of the free scoring Close who celebrates his 34th B'day today. And he did rise to the managers expectation at the right time. He was about to be replaced at 72th minute , then he connected a perfect world class header of Khaira's cross.
     
                                          Portugal too had their chances , at the end of first half , Pepe hit the woodwork from a corner kick , but the ball hasn't crossed the line. Then after Gomez's goal , Portugal went on a late surge. With Ronaldo , Contrao and Nani combining together. They did produce few golden chances which dint find the back of the net , thanks to brilliant goal keeping by manuel Neur . Nani hit the crossbar with his cross and Ronaldo was denied by a brilliant tackle by Jerome Boeteng.

                               Now in the Group of death ,Group B both Denmark and Germany have won one game each. The following matches are gonna be breath taking for sure.

Netherlands 0-1 Denmark

                                     "This wasnt the day for Orange"
                            Netherlands suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Denmark at Metalist Stadium on Saturday to start their Euro 2012 campaign in dreadful fashion. Despite fashioning a slew of chances almost straight from the opening whistle, the tournament favourites were extremely poor in front of goal, and were punished for their profligacy by a fine finish from Michael Krohn-Dehli after 24 minutes.
                                                              The Dutch were similarly wasteful during the second half, their performance epitomised by the labouring Robin van Persie, who showed none of the killer instinct from his stellar 37-goal season with Arsenal. The race for qualification from Group B is now wide open, after a stunning smash and grab result from Denmark, who defied the odds and now have a priceless three points to give their hopes of making the quarter-finals an undeniable boost.
                                                                With first choice left-back Erik Pieters unavailable, Bert van Marwijk began with Jetro Willems at the back who, at 18 years and 71 days old, became the youngest player ever to feature in the tournament.It was the PSV Eindhoven youngster who had the first chance of the match, sending a crashing drive from long range over the bar with only three minutes gone. Moments later, Robin van Persie spurned a more obvious opportunity when he belted a deflected cross off target from close range. The Dutch appeared to be in control of proceedings, Ibrahim Afellay sending another effort off target, before Arjen Robben’s dangerous centre was toe-poked into the grateful arms of Stephan Andersen. 
                                                                          However, for all their dominance, Netherlands lacked a cutting edge in front of goal and with 24 minutes gone, Denmark showed them how it should be done. Krohn-Dehli still had work to do after picking up possession just outside the area, but the Brondby winger did not hesitate, nipping past his marker and drilling between the legs of Maarten Stekelenburg. The goal sparked Denmark into life, who began to cause more problems by using their wide players to apply pressure down the flanks and pinging crosses into the heart of the Dutch penalty area. They were almost pegged back after 36 minutes though, after a poor clearance from Andersen was pounced upon by Robben, who strode forward and bent an effort onto the base of the post. Afellay skied another attempt following a marauding run into the box, but it was Van Persie’s miss a few minutes before half-time that left Van Marwijk shaking his head. The Arsenal striker’s heavy first-touch betrayed a glorious set up by Wesley Sneijder, but he still should have hit the target, instead of firing wide via a deflection by Andersen.

                                                            The interval did little to turn Van Persie’s fortunes, who wasted two further setups from Sneijder, with a trip over his own feet a particular cause of frustration, not least to the watching Klass Jan-Huntelaar on the bench. Mark Van Bommel called Andersen into action with a long range piledriver, before Afellay squeezed an attempt from the edge of the box inches wide of the post, as Netherlands seemed capable of everything but putting the ball into the back of the net. Robben planted a header the wrong side of the post, but Netherlands could have been further behind on 70 minutes had Stekelenburg not gotten a touch onto a stinging drive by Krohn-Dehli. The chances continues to come for the Dutch, with substitute Huntelaar wasting the pick of them when he failed to round Andersen after yet another incisive through ball from Sneijder.

                                          But Denmark were holding firm at the back, and survived a late flicked header from Van Persie that inched over the bar. When a late penalty appeal for handball against Jacobsen went unanswered, the Dutch knew that their time was up. Netherlands will have a difficult task getting their campaign back on track when they face fellow favourites Germany in their next group match, while Denmark square off with Portugal. Both fixtures take place next Wednesday.
